The UN Independent SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) expert should act immediately
Samyar Alinejad reported to Rainbow Communities Inc. yesterday on the two men, Mehrdad Karimpou and Farid Mohammadi, were executed on sodomy charges in the Maragheh prison in north western Iran on Sunday.
Rainbow Communities Peer Group from the 72 Countries that execute, imprison, torture and persecute gay SOGI people expects that Victor Madrigal-Borloz, UN Independent Expert (IE) will use his capacity at the UN to take the strongest action to condemn Iran for this awful action and to protect SOGI people from this total abrogation of their human rights in their home countries.
It makes our submission to the UN Independent Expert more pressing for urgent action in the way that we have detailed and requested.
